Economics of cheap

on Aug 03 in Economics tagged by Trevor Hicks

Obviously vacation has reduced my posting volume, I guess nobody should be surprised.

Megan McArdle of the Atlantic magazine posts some correspondence from Ellen Ruppel, author of a new book CHEAP. What struck me was her comment that cheap consumer goods deepen disparity in wealth distribution. That strikes me as completely counter-intuitive. I look forward to reading more to see this point of view defended.

Again sorry about the primitive ability to link and quote posting from my phone.
